Lepton-Photon in Hamburg: An early start into the week

Lepton-Photon Banner

After a painfully early start this morning, getting up a bit before 5:30, I am now at the Lepton-Photon conference in Hamburg, listening to presentations about the status of the LHC experiments… One of the advantages of living close to a major airport, MUC in my case, is that it is actually possible to make it to a conference before 10 am without having to leave the night before. Of course, provided the meeting is also close to another airport, with point-to-point connection to Munich, and not too far off. However, it still means leaving very early, an 8 o’clock flight in my case… But breakfast in the Lufthansa lounge while waiting for boarding makes it bearable, plus it also saves some time in the morning on the way to the airport.

Well, now that I’m here, I’ve already met one fellow QD diarist, Ingrid (we meet quite often at all sorts of meetings, or whenever I’m at DESY)… But I wonder: Is there another QD diarist here? After all, this is one of the bigger particle physics conferences. What an ideal occasion to go have a beer…
