Thanks for reading the post and thanks for the comment. I totally agree with you, I thought it wasn’t so appropriate to use that word. I think “popular science”, you suggests, suits a lot more ! Thanks for the advice, I’ll use that word.

Thanks for the nice article. Sorry to be picky but in my experience “vulgarization” is not used in this context (although I suppose technically that it one of the definitions of the word. I imagine that it is not used since the more commonly used meaning is to debase something). Unfortunately I don’t know of a good word to replace it. Perhaps something like “teaching physics to non-scientists” or “popular science” would be more appropriate phrases. I’ve not commonly heard this used but “popularize” may be a suitable replacement for your uses of “vulgarize” (and “popularization of science” in place of “vulgarization”).
