Hi Leon,

Thanks for your nice post! Indeed, the masterclasses are slowly growing in France year after year, with the support of both the Institute and the labs involved in the LHC.

I agree with you about the need of more centralized sitez which would help students, teachers and the general audience to access good quality material about particle physics: there are a lot of local initiatives which are successful but not advertised well enough outside of the community they are targeting. We're working on this both at the IN2P3 level and in Europe -- for instance, IPPOG has created a public outreach database https://cms-docdb.cern.ch/cgi-bin/PublicEPPOGDocDB/DocumentDatabase which includes all good projects the group is made aware of. But building this up is taking time => be patient!

In Germany you have the 'Netzwerk Teilchenwelt' network which probably organized the masterclass you participated to. That's a great program well ahead of what we currently have in France.

Carry on organising the masterclasses! They are a great opportunity for interested students (I myself participated in a (not international, but still) particly physics masterclass in Göttingen and even had the opportunity to visit CERN)!
One thing: I don't know about the situation in France, but at least for us here in Germany, a centralised information source concerning oppurtinities in (particle) physics for student would be great!
