1. You have no overarching plan at all;
2. You start fitting things into a plan and become a hedgehog;
3. You recognise the limits of a single plan and become a fox;
4. You realise hedgehog and fox are just different modalities that you have to switch between, splitting and combining views of the world as necessary.
