Andres Florez

I am originally from Bogota Colombia, and am currently a second-year Ph.D. student at Vanderbilt University. If asked to describe myself in a few words, I'll say that I am a persistent achiever. I have learned in life to overcome difficult circumstances, which has taught me that honest and hard work bring rewards to a humble, curious and ambitious mind.

I have been working on the CMS experiment since January 2006. Most of my work had been on the Forward Pixel Detector project, where I have learned valuable experiences and have met amazing people. My goal is to become a complete scientist and use my talents to help others. I have been at CERN a couple of times before and am getting ready to go to the laboratory for a long period of time. It's going to be an exciting and challenging experience that I will tell you about through my posts on this blog.
